about

With their second release “Foxtard”/ “Carnivalesque,” Durham punk band THE BASTAGES take a look at America’s Not-So-Smartland – and it scares them shitless.
First, the Bastages blast off with “Foxtard,” a withering fuck-you to the most dangerous cult of alternate reality on television.
Then, on “Carnivalesque,” singer Chris Horstman adopts a Glenn Beck-like persona to carny-bark his believers into a tent filled with remedies and elixirs – guaranteed to make that scary black president go away.
“Foxtard” was recorded and mixed by Scotty Samwich at Motorco Music Hall in Durham, NC. “Carnivalesque” was recorded live on-the-air by Ross Grady at WXDU 88.7 FM in Durham, NC. Both songs are mastered by Scotty Samwich.
